Roomzy is a cross-platform AI interior design application that allows users to remodel their rooms simply by taking a photo. Users can apply a variety of interior styles including modern, minimalist, and bohemian while preserving important elements such as windows, outdoor scenery, and room dimensions. The app provides a realistic and intuitive experience for anyone who wants to visualize interior transformations without manual design work.
The Chalange
Creating a real-time AI interior design tool required addressing several challenges. Room images contain complex structures, and preserving context such as windows, doors, and outdoor scenery while remodeling interiors demanded highly accurate segmentation. Standard models were not sufficient for this level of precision.
In addition, users expect fast results. Traditional AI pipelines often introduce delays in generating high-resolution redesigned images, which can negatively affect the user experience. Finally, integrating multiple AI models including segmentation, style transfer, and image generation into a seamless and reliable pipeline across multiple platforms was essential to deliver a production-ready app.
How we helped
build a scalable solution
To meet these challenges, we built Roomzy using advanced AI techniques and a serverless GPU cloud infrastructure to optimize both accuracy and speed.
The AI pipeline starts with image capture, followed by segmentation using the Segment Anything Model (SAM), which was custom-trained for room layouts. Once the room is accurately masked, users select a preferred interior style and the AI remodel generates the new design while preserving structural elements and room dimensions.
The backend uses FastAPI and runs on a serverless GPU cloud, providing on-demand GPU resources. This architecture eliminates delays in image generation and enables near-instant inference for high-resolution images. The system is cross-platform compatible and extendable, allowing future enhancements and additional AI-powered image editing features.
